2008 Real to Reel Film Festival Poster Contest

Entries accepted between April 1, 2008 and May 16, 2008

The full-color 11x17" poster will be used to promote the 2008 Real to Reel Film Festival, and will be displayed all over Kings Mountain, Shelby, and surrounding counties in June and July 2008. The artist of the winning entry will receive four tickets to the Real to Reel Film Festival, publicity, and five copies of the poster when printed. The top three submissions will also be displayed at the Joy Performance Center during the Real to Reel Film Festival.

Design: Posters should have a strong graphic impact and should be eye-catching from 20-30 feet away. The design should make the viewer want to stop and read the poster (and hopefully, visit the Real to Reel Film Festival Web site and/or buy tickets). Only original artwork will be considered. The contest is open to anyone and multiple designs may be submitted.

The poster should be distinctively different from the 2005 and 2007 posters. Our 2008 logo has red, black, and yellow and white lettering (GIF; JPG; TIF). Our official logo must appear on the poster, but you may also use a deconstructed version or elements of it in your design. The bottom 2" of the design must be left blank for sponsor logos (see previous year posters for examples).

The poster must include the following information:

  • 2008 Real to Reel Film Festival
  • Independent film
  • July 23-26, 2008
  • Joy Performance Center, 202 S. Railroad Ave., Kings Mountain, NC
  • www.realtoreelfest.com
