Art ’Round Town Gallery Crawl will be held Thursday, Sept. 1st, 5:30 – 7:30 in Uptown Shelby.
Each location will be open extended hours and will feature distinctive and original artwork.
You can start your crawl at any of the locations and proceed at your own pace.

Buffalo Creek Gallery
Buffalo Creek Gallery is a cooperative gallery featuring fine art and handcrafted works by local artists. Featured artists are painter Terrie Melton, fiber artist Beverly Putnam.  Tricia Woodland will demonstrate hand built ceramic jack-o-lanterns.  Also featured is “Still Life with Tractor” a community project painted by over 50 attendees of Arts on the Square 2011. Organized by the gallery, this painting is being donated to the Foothills Farmer’s Market and will be sold to benefit the Foothills Farmer’s Market Building Fund.

Cleveland County Arts Council
“Observations and Conclusions”.  Winners of last year’s Shavings and Thrums exhibition, Lauren Bryant and Nathan Roses’ new work reflects their interpretation of the act of observing and the conclusions drawn from those observations.

Frame Masters Gallery
Frame Masters Gallery is featuring Naturalist and Wildlife artist Sallie Ellington Middleton and Lynn Gates Bredeson.  Sallie, who passed away in 2009, was considered one of the top naturalist wildlife watercolor artists in the nation. Her remarkable eye for detail made her work extremely popular with art collectors. Lynn Gates Bredeson of Anderson, S.C. will sign Giclee prints and have original works available. Lynn has sold over 600 original paintings and illustrated six books including the sold out "How God Decorated Heaven for Christmas”.

Local DJ and graphic artist, Todd Yelton will display a collection of his artwork in the windows of the newest restaurant in Shelby. Todd’s artwork is grounded in (but not limited to) urban street art/graffiti.  His medium is spray paint & oil-based paint markers.  He is currently working on a mural of James Love School Library promoting reading.

Two Doors Down
Two Doors Down, a unique clothing store is pleased to be host to the local potter, Ron Philbeck.  Ron has been making pottery in Cleveland County since 1992.  He currently works in red earthenware clay creating both functional and decorative wares.  The pots incorporate Ron's original drawings into the surface.  Each piece is unique and one of a kind.  When not making pots Ron enjoys journaling, drawing, cooking, drinking tea, and napping. 12 E.
